Moving can be very exciting and very stressful at the same time.  Many people hate the thought of packing up years of memories and the collection of things they have accumulated.

Moving is often by choice, but it can be because of job relocation, health reasons, divorce or other life circumstances. Whatever your reason everyone can use a few tips to help make the process easier.

Families who have been in their home for many years experience sadness because they are attached to the place where they have spent most of their life. This is a common emotion when leaving your lifetime home.

Here are 6 signs that you should consider listing your home and make plans to move on to make new memories.

1.You have outgrown your current home –Maybe you have expanded your family or taken in elderly family members. If adding additional space onto your existing home is not an options, moving may be the way to go.

2. You have too much space– If your children are college bound and you have found yourself alone and are now an empty nester, downsizing it a great way to get the equity out of your home and save a little money by moving into a smaller home.

3.Your Home is costing too much – If you are spending a large portion of your income making repairs, maintaining or paying fees associated with homeownership it may be time to get into a home that costs less to maintain.

4.Property values are declining – Over time neighborhoods can start to decline and property values can be affected. If this is your situation, consider selling while you can still get a good return at sale.

5.Health – Perhaps your health has declined and you need to move to a warmer climate or your home is not suited for handicap living.

6.Move on to a new chapter of your life – The last great reason to move is because you are ready to move on to the next chapter of your life. Change is good. New advantures may be on the horizon.
